Unisa is up to date of the problem unmistakable by students with the online pleading about the Diploma in Grade R teaching.

The Diploma in Grade R Teaching became available for the first time in 2023, with enrollment beginning in 2024. The admissions requirements have not changed.

The qualification’s purpose is to raise the status of practitioners already working in Grade R by allowing them to apply for and get credit for the Bachelor of Education Foundation Phase Teaching, which is the bare minimum for Grade R teachers.

Program in Grade R Teaching (76522)

Duration: 1 (one) year, which includes a mandatory three-week practicum in a Grade R class. All five modules must be registered in the same academic year.
Teachers or practitioners working with students in Grade R are the intended audience (the year before formal school starts).

  • Admission basic requirements: Matric or Grade 12 certificate
  • Registration period: from 02 January to 28 February

Each Unisa qualification is designed such that you must pass a given number of NQF level credits within a certain time frame in order to graduate.

It is also critical that you manage your studies and complete the NQF level credits for which you enroll each semester or year. Please also keep in mind Unisa’s entrance and re-admission policies.

Each qualifying page includes instructions on how to do so successfully.

  • Applicants (new applicants and Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received and accepted an offer of placement from Unisa. If it is discovered that you were improperly admitted to a qualification, Unisa retains the right to not process and/or revoke your registration.
  • Students who are re-registering must do so during the applicable registration period for the 2023 academic year.
