Key Responsibilities
As a learner in this program, you will be exposed to a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Mechanical Tasks:
- Helping with the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery and Diagnosing mechanical faults and performing troubleshooting activities.
- Disassembling and reassembling mechanical components as required.
- Conducting routine inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Learning to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Electrical Tasks:
- Assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment and Learning to identify and troubleshoot electrical faults.
- Assisting with wiring, cabling, and electrical connections.
- Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Gaining exposure to electrical testing and diagnostics.
- General Duties:
- Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times and Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participating in theoretical training sessions and workshops.
- Completing logbooks and assignments as part of the learnership program and Collaborating with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals.
Requirements
To be considered for this learnership, candidates must meet the following simple requirements:
- Education:
- Abet/grade 10/Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- A pass in mathematics and Physical Science is highly advantageous.
- Skills and Attributes:
- A strong interest in mechanics and electrical work.
- Basic technical aptitude and problem-solving skills and Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and able to perform manual labor and Must be willing to work in various environments, including workshops and on-site locations.
- Must be available for the entire duration of the learnership program and A valid driver’s license (optional but advantageous).
